Repair Cyberhome DVD: slow, inconsistent disc tray ejection, disc reading error, power supply.

Date: March 2013

Problem:

 This Cyberhome CH-DVD300 DVD player shows erratic behavior from slow disc tray ejection to not powering on at all, LED light is very weak, does nothing when pressing the power button.

Diagnosis:

Upon opening the DVD player, the power supply section has a capacitor with a swollen top with a 10V 2200uf rating.

Repair:

Replaced the capacitor with a high quality Rubycon brand.

Result:

The LED is strong and all functions returned to normal.
